Void ist alles andere als leer, sondern ein recht spannendes Werk von XCIII. Ein Album mit großartigen atmosphärischen Soundlandschaften. Aber Achtung: Nichts für den gemeinen „Metaller“ oder Rocker, sondern eher etwas für alle diejenigen, die sich auch einmal auf etwas anderes einlassen können bzw. wollen. (8,7/10)

Chaque composition possède sa personnalité, développe son ADN propre, apporte son originalité à l’ensemble, notamment par des sonorités complexes idéalement adaptées. Tout en restant cohérent et homogène, l’album offre une variété impressionnante qui conserve l’attention sur la longueur.

Das Projekt geht seinen Weg unbeirrt weiter, verfeinert zum einen seinen Sound und erweitert ihn im selben Atemzug um dutzende kleine und große Nuancen, so dass man zwar grob einschätzen kann, in welche Richtung es diesmal gehen wird, aber doch immer wieder aufs neue überrascht wird. Poppig und facettenreich, dabei tiefgründig und experimentell, das ist es was mich an der Band fasziniert. Großartiges Album!

I testi descrivono gesti ed oggetti quotidiani, vanno ascoltati con attenzione, Beringer lavora sull’applicazione della metafora; essi s’amalgamano al tessuto sonoro, che varia e che riserva veri e propri saliscendi emozionali, il crescendo inarrestabile di “Tapeworm” merita una menzione a parte. Assai convincente, e non per tutti. Ma questo non è un difetto.

Il disco delinea una strada molto interessante per il progetto XCIII, curati arrangiamenti, preziose idee e singolari momenti sonori che vanno a creare un ottimo lavoro di questo composer che dal 2010 crea musica e cerca di affrontare nuove forme espressive. La componente di “contemporaneità” è un valore aggiunto al lavoro.

The production sounds very professional […] In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from XCIII and if you are a fan of the newer stuff from Ulver, Anathema, trip hop and post rock, you should check out this album.
